If you've been looking at our jewelry lately, you may have noticed that some of our fidget rings are now available in stainless steel, too.
I've had a few people ask why we made the change and which metal they should choose.
The truth is, both are great options.
It really comes down to what fits your lifestyle and how you like to wear your jewelry.
Why we added stainless steel
When we first started OrnaMental Health, every ring was made in sterling silver.
I still love sterling silver because it's a beautiful precious metal with a timeless look.
But over the past year, many of you told us you wanted something you could wear every day with even less maintenance.
That's why we introduced stainless steel.
5 things to consider when choosing your metal
1. Choose stainless steel if you want something waterproof
One of the biggest benefits of stainless steel is that it's waterproof.
You don't have to think about taking it off to wash your hands or worry if it gets wet during your day.
That makes it an easy choice for anyone who wants jewelry that fits naturally into everyday life.
Sometimes convenience helps you enjoy wearing your jewelry even more.
2. Choose stainless steel if you want the lowest maintenance option
Stainless steel is also tarnish-free.
It keeps its shine without needing to be polished, making it a great everyday option.
If you like putting your jewelry on in the morning and not thinking about it again, this metal makes that easy.
It's designed to keep up with busy routines.
3. Choose sterling silver if you love precious metals
Sterling silver has been used in jewelry for generations, and there's a reason so many people still love it.
It's a precious metal with a classic look that never goes out of style.
If sterling silver ever tarnishes, that's completely normal and it can usually be polished back to its original shine.
Many people enjoy that traditional feel and don't mind the occasional polishing.
4. Think about your everyday routine
The best metal is the one that works with your lifestyle.
If you prefer something that's waterproof and very low maintenance, stainless steel may be the better fit.
If you enjoy wearing precious metals and don't mind a little extra care, sterling silver is a great choice.
Neither one is better than the other.
They're simply designed for different preferences.
5. You really can't go wrong
Sometimes we put pressure on ourselves to make the "perfect" choice.
But in this case, there isn't one.
Whether you choose stainless steel or sterling silver, you'll still have the same beautiful design.
Why the metal matters for fidget rings
Our goal has always been to create fidget rings that feel beautiful enough to wear every day.
The more naturally your ring fits into your routine, the easier it is to reach for it during moments of stress, overthinking, or a busy day.
Whether you choose stainless steel or sterling silver, our hope is that your ring becomes one of those everyday grounding tools that helps you feel a little calmer throughout the day.
Choose the one that fits you best
We added stainless steel because we wanted to offer a waterproof, tarnish-free option for everyday wear.
At the same time, sterling silver is still a beautiful choice for anyone who loves precious metals.
Whichever one you choose, I hope it becomes a small part of your daily routine and brings a little more calm to your day.
