Life can get stressful sometimes.
Whether you’re dealing with a busy schedule, overthinking, or just feeling anxious, it helps to have a tool you can use anytime, anywhere.
The other day, I tried something called Visualized Breathing, and I was surprised at how calming it felt.
How to do Visualized Breathing
Here’s how it works:
- Inhale slowly, and imagine yourself breathing in relaxation. Picture calm energy filling your body.
- Exhale, and visualize yourself letting go of stress, worry, or tension.
- Repeat a few times, until you feel a little lighter.
That’s it. Simple, but powerful.
Why it works
When you pair breathing with imagination, your brain gets an extra reminder that it’s safe to relax.
Deep breaths signal your nervous system to calm down, and the visualization helps distract your mind from racing thoughts.
It’s a small mindset shift, but it can make a big difference when you’re anxious or overthinking.
Tips to make it more effective
- Close your eyes if you can, it makes the visualization stronger.
- Play calming music while you’re breathing.
- Use a grounding tool, like a fidget ring, to give your hands something soothing to do while you breathe.
I like spinning my fidget ring for anxiety during this exercise. I usually wear my Serenity rose quartz fidget ring.
It helps me focus, and it’s also a gentle reminder throughout the day to slow down.
Next time you feel stressed, try a few rounds of visualized breathing.
I hope this helps!
